The Basics Of Classified Car Ads

When looking for new or used cars there are several ways to shop and compare vehicles and prices. Many people enjoy walking around a dealership lot and speaking with a sales person, others like to call the telephone number written on the window of a passing car. Others enjoy opening their daily newspaper and thumbing through the classified car ads while sitting at the kitchen table.

The classifieds can be found in newspapers, magazines, weekly or monthly brochures and on the internet. While searching the internet for your new vehicle, you can break down your search rather easily between new and used cars or trucks and compacts. You may also change the inventory you are viewing just by selecting a make, price range or color. While browsing the internet ads you can also compare cars from different dealerships as well as financing options and special deals which pertain to the vehicle you are interested in.

Newspapers and magazines tend to leave one wondering through the page looking for something that catches the eye. Some prints may list their vehicles in alphabetical order by maker, others by year and some by price. Print ads are usually limited on space due to cost and that means they are limited on information.

Regardless of where you're viewing your potential new car, make, model, year and cost usually make it into the allotted space. If you're lucky you will also be able to read about added features including the color, miles per gallon and current mileage or possible problems with used cars. Typically you do not get to see a picture of the car if it is listed in a publication unless the publication deals solely with vehicles. Even if you do get the chance to see an image in print, it is usually very small and only from one angle.

Researching your new car from home can make the shopping experience much easier. By reading over the ads, comparing prices, features and performance you can walk into a dealership with more confidence. Research is informative, but no matter how much do, you cannot drive it, sit in it or adjust its mirror, it is just information.
